Frequently Asked Questions

Helpful answers about Serenova, from choosing your spa to everyday care and support.

General

What is a Serenova Spa?

Serenova is a premium soft-sided spa designed around comfort, flexibility, and modern technology. Its lightweight design, insulated Polybond foam structure, marine-grade exterior, and TOUCH 4.0 control system create a full spa experience without the permanent installation typically associated with traditional hot tubs.

What makes Serenova different from a traditional hot tub?

Serenova combines the comfort and insulation of a soft-sided spa with modern controls and flexible placement. There is no heavy acrylic shell or permanent foundation required, and it operates from a dedicated standard household electrical outlet.

Where are Serenova Spas engineered?

Serenova Spas are Swiss Engineered, combining European design with technology developed specifically for the Serenova spa experience.

Can a Serenova Spa be used year-round?

Yes. Serenova is designed for year-round enjoyment. Its insulated structure, fitted lid, and heating system work together to retain heat efficiently throughout changing seasons.

Can I move my Serenova Spa?

Yes. One of the advantages of Serenova’s soft-sided design is flexibility. When drained, the spa can be repositioned or relocated far more easily than a traditional hard-sided hot tub.

How many people fit in a Serenova Spa?

The Royal is designed for up to four people, while the larger Legacy accommodates up to six people.

Is Serenova an inflatable hot tub?

No. Serenova is a soft-sided spa built with a supportive Polybond foam structure. Unlike an inflatable spa, Serenova does not rely on air pressure to maintain its shape. The foam structure provides support, insulation, and the comfortable feel that makes Serenova unique.

Does the spa lose its shape when it’s empty?

No. Serenova’s Polybond foam structure maintains the spa’s form even when it is not filled with water. There are no inflatable walls that need to remain pressurized.

Are the sides comfortable to sit against?

Yes. Comfort is one of the advantages of Serenova’s soft-sided design. The walls provide support while offering a softer, more forgiving feel than the rigid shell of a traditional acrylic hot tub.

What happens if I move? Can I take my Serenova with me?

Yes. Serenova’s lightweight, soft-sided design provides considerably more flexibility than a permanently installed traditional hot tub. The spa can be drained and relocated, allowing your Serenova to move with you.

Models & Setup

What Serenova models are available?

Royal — 72-inch diameter × 26 inches high, 219-gallon capacity, 10 jets, and seating for up to 4 people.
Legacy — 78-inch diameter × 28 inches high, 317-gallon capacity, 12 jets, and seating for up to 6 people.

What electrical connection does Serenova require?

Serenova operates on 110/120V power using a dedicated 15-amp outlet. There is no need for the 220/240V electrical installation commonly required by traditional hot tubs.

Does Serenova require professional installation?

No major construction or permanent plumbing is required. Serenova is designed for convenient setup and can be filled using a standard garden hose.

Do I need a concrete pad?

Not necessarily. The spa needs to be placed on a level, stable surface capable of supporting the filled weight of the spa and its occupants. Always verify that the intended location can safely support the required load.

Can I use an extension cord?

Only a Serenova-approved extension cord should be used. Standard household extension cords should not be substituted.

How long does it take to fill?

Fill time varies depending on water pressure and hose flow. Once filled to the proper level, the Aqua Center can begin circulating and heating the water.

How does Serenova heat the water?

The Serenova Aqua Center uses its heating system along with heat recovered from the motor to efficiently bring the spa to your selected temperature and maintain it.

What is the maximum water temperature?

The spa can be set up to 104°F (40°C).

Do the jets operate while the spa is heating?

You may notice water movement or slower jet operation during a heating cycle. This is normal and helps circulate water through the heating system. The TOUCH 4.0 system gives you control over jet operation.

Is it easy to get in and out of a Serenova Spa?

Serenova’s lower profile makes entry and exit convenient. The Royal is 26 inches high, while the Legacy is 28 inches high. Serenova surrounds can also add integrated steps and additional usable space around the spa.

Can I add a Serenova surround later?

Yes. A surround can be added later to transform the space around your Serenova. Different surround designs provide options for steps, seating, storage, and additional space while creating a more finished spa setting.

Ownership & Water Care

We recommend rinsing the filter balls weekly and performing a more thorough cleaning approximately once per month, depending on spa usage and water conditions.

How often should I change the water?

Under normal conditions, we recommend draining and refilling approximately every 3–4 months. Heavy use or water-balance issues may require more frequent changes.

How do I care for the water in my Serenova Spa?

Regular testing and routine water care help keep your Serenova clean, clear, and comfortable. Serenova provides recommended water-care guidelines for balancing and sanitizing your spa. Detailed instructions, recommended ranges, and maintenance schedules are included in the Serenova Ownership Guide.

Can I use any hot tub chemicals?

No. Only products compatible with Serenova’s materials and water-care requirements should be used. Avoid adding unapproved chemicals, oils, bath products, or other substances to the spa.

Should the jets be running when I add chemicals?

Yes. Circulating the water helps distribute chemicals throughout the spa. Follow the directions provided with your approved water-care products and the Serenova Ownership Guide.

How often should I clean the spa itself?

Wipe down exposed surfaces as needed and clean the interior whenever you drain and refill the spa. Periodic system cleaning should also be incorporated into your maintenance routine.
